As discussed in my previous posts about why to consider and how to make homemade baby purees and toddler food, feeding can be such an overwhelming time! Not only when beginning to introduce solids but all along the way. Questions like when to try new foods, new texture and what items and utensils to use to accomplish this and inevitable. One my biggest criteria here is the ability for easy clean up and items that are dishwasher safe, for households that have them, is huge. Here’s my list of my favorite feeding related products to make the search easy!

Bibs
I highly recommend silicone bibs for many reasons. One, they are dishwasher safe and are so easy to clean. Rinse after the meal and place in the dishwasher (or hand wash) with the other items from the meal. Two, they do not stain and are waterproof and keep baby dry. Three, they have a pouch to catch food to contain some mess.
For easy drying of the bibs (and also Stasher bags which you know I love so dearly), check out this wooden drying rack.

Highchair
There are many options for high chairs and many factors that go into this purchase. The amount and type of space if will be in, available features as well as price point. So. Many. Options… We ultimately decided on the Peg Perego Siesta Highchair and love it. It folds up and can be stored in a closet, has wheels, reclines so that it can be used as a place to set younger babies, a cover on the tray for easier clean up, multiple height (counter and table) options and an available newborn booster (highly recommend). The only con is that the foot rest only changes in angle and not in length: If you desire that babes feet touch the footrest from an early age this may not be the right fit. My runner up is the Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair but requires a larger foot print and does not collapse.
Portable Highchair
For on an on the go option the Inglesina Fast Table Chair is amazing! The way this thing cleans up in the washing machine is nothing short of a world wonder. It’s small when collapsed (fits under the front seat in my Honda) and is sturdy. The tray for this is a total game changer for an easy clean up. And it fits in the storage bag without making it much bulkier.

Utensils
Beaba Silicone Spoons. These are expensive but great. They are soft and a longer handle for easy maneuvering for the big people but also not too difficult for babe to use when ready.
Gootensils. These are probably my favorite feeding item. They allow for much independence with feeding from a young age and this was a game changer for Poppy. The ability for her to aid with the feeding pressure took pressure off of us in trying to “make” the meal happen and allow her explore at her own pace.

Plates
We often feed or offer food directly from the glass containers (fruit or leftovers) or place items directly on the highchair tray. When we do use plates, these are some of the favorites.
Ezpz Mini Mat
Bobo&Boo Bamboo Plates

Bowls
To minimize dishes, we feed from the glass jars we use for food storage often (My post about making homemade food details these!). Other bowl options that I like are Bobo&Boo Bamboo Snack Bowls, Ezpz Mini Bowl and Munchkin Stay Put Suction Bowls.

Snack Cups
Munchkin Snack Catcher. These work very well. Minimal spill, easy for babe to get the snack out and easy to clean.

Drinking Cups
Open Cup – Ezpz Tiny Cup. This cup not only adorable but great for tiny hands. It is slightly weighted to allow it to guide back into an upright position when placed back onto a flat surface while learning to drink from the cup.
Straw Cup – This is the hardest category. There isn’t a clear winner and all the cups have their pros and cons. Based on price per cup and easy of cleaning (although all straw cups are be design on the difficult side to clean) my favorite is the Munchkin Any Angle Weighted Straw Cup. Pros: Great handle for little hands to hold, easy for baby to drink from without need to bite straw, parts are easy to clean and cheap to replace if need be, two size options, and easy open cover for the straw. Cons: No fluid measurement markings, leak significantly if the top is not screwed on perfectly and pressure issues can occur in cups and the liquid overflows from the straw.
