Obviously staying in the house forever is not an option while potty training and the right products make it very feasible (and dare I say it, almost easy) to use the potty on the go. Hands down my favorite product is the OXO’s Tot 2 in 1 Potty Travel Potty. This thing just just awesome. It’s small enough to be stored in a backpack and there is an option to place disposable bags into it when needed! Check out even more awesome items in this post!
Potty training has been energy consuming for all humans involved (this is a tad dramatic, but truly, potty training has been no joke). Having items available that are simple to use and the right fit for everyone eases the stress of the whole process. After doing lots (and lots) of research of what is on the market, here are my favorite items that are great quality and have made the experience “go” more smoothly.
“Oh Mon Dieu”, a common French phrase meaning Oh My God, is a frequently used saying in our family. Once it was discovered that a rhyme could be created, Oh Mon Dieu, Poppy’s Two, a French and Paris themed birthday party was born.
I’m a sucker for an adorable themed birthday party and I’m so excited to share the details. Despite the fact her birthdays have been during the pandemic in a winter month, we’ve made the most of it and really enjoyed the intimate parties.
It is officially winter in Pittsburgh. When the weather is this cold, the house just feels colder for some reason, regardless of what the thermostat says. This time last year Poppy had been walking for a few weeks and having warm clothing that was grippy to aid with getting around, both crawling and walking, was so important. Poppy is not the largest of children and I was shocked at how hard it was to find reasonably priced footed pajamas that had 2-way zippers (a total must in my opinion) and non-slip grippers on the feet in sizes under 12 months. Non-slip gripper coating can be added to any item you desire. It only takes a small bit of time and minimal creative effort necessary.
It can be daunting thinking about what to bring to the hospital for delivery and your subsequent hospital stay. We definitely packed too much, but I was also glad that we had a lot of what we did. Below is a list of the things more
With all the sales this weekend, it’s the time to shop! The holidays always bring so much excitement but can also bring challenges on managing what and how many gifts are purchased that need to be fit into a home (and are truly necessary without creating too much excess – this is a huge goal of ours if you can’t tell!). Here is a list of gifts that are great for little ones around 1 year of age.
Finding ideas for gifts is one of my favorite things to do and I hope to help make it something that you enjoy as well. Here’s a guide to what’s on Poppy’s Holiday Gift List this year (and some already owned favorites) as she approaches 2 years of age.
Not everyday needs to be homemade and fancy. In fact, a lot of our go-to snacks are not. Finding easy snacks that aren’t overly processed and have healthy ingredients can be a challenge. But it’s also okay to let it be easy! (Often I need to remind myself of this too). Here are our favorite quick, minimal effort snacks.
Frankly, fashion is not one of my strengths. It’s just not something that I enjoy nor something that I want to spend my money on. When I found out I was pregnant, I basically refused to buy lots of “pregnancy” clothes. I knew it was inevitable that I’d need some modifications but I didn’t plan on purchasing many items that I wouldn’t be able to wear post pregnancy.
Breastfeeding is such a spectacular thing. There are so many benefits for everyone involved including nutrition and immunity for baby, bonding for baby and mama and convenience of feeding baby whenever mom is around without lots of supplies or hassle. In as many ways that it is great, it can also be really challenging. If mom is frequently outside the home, pumping will be necessary which is a process all of its own. It is a journey that is different for all but everyone can be successful in their own way. Here is my list of favorite products that aided in my success (and significantly with my sanity).
We love our nursery! Not just because of the functional items in it but because it is such a calm and inviting space that we love spending time in as a family. We used the nursery throughout the day essentially initially after Poppy came home. It built a wonderful foundation for feelings of comfort for her in “her room” and provided me much needed comfort too. Here’s the lift of my favorite nursery items.
As discussed in my previous posts about why to consider and how to make homemade baby purees and toddler food, feeding can be such an overwhelming time! Here’s my list of my favorite feeding related products to make the search easy!
Toys. What an overwhelming topic – not only in terms of sheer volume but in terms of what to buy. As a new mother it can feel like you need to have all the toys and all these perfect interactive activities to prepare your child for life. Don’t let it stress you out.
These are my favorite items for home with a new born. Many of the moms in my life have expressed the desire for a comprehensive list of great products without the fluff.
There are too many things that we need to purchase, or at least society has made us feel like we need to purchase, for our children. These things cost money, and usually if baby is in the name, more money than seems logical. Free things more
