Now that Halloween is over I feel the gears shifting into the next holiday season. If you go to pretty much any store, they would agree based on the amount of Christmas and holiday decor that is already out. Finding ideas for gifts is one of my favorite things to do and I hope to help make it something that you enjoy as well. It may be known from my previous posts that we try to be minimalists with stuff (for space concerns as well as the goal of focusing on experiences rather than things). I strive for items that are multipurpose, educational and developmentally advantageous or just too extraordinarily cute or fun to pass up). Here is some of what is on Poppy’s Holiday Gift List this year (and some other things we already have and truly recommend).

As with all infant and toddler items, age appropriate ranges are given from the manufacturers. Please use your knowledge of your child and own parental judgement regarding the safety of the items for your family and situation.

Strider Balance Bike

Micro Kickboard – Mini Deluxe 3-Wheeled, Lean-to-Steer Scooter

Safety is a must in this household. Poppy already has a Giro Scamp Youth Helmet (which we love and highly recommend – it fits small heads and has MIPS technology) and Kids Protective Gear, Knee Pads and Elbow Pads are on her list. (I unfortunately am not positive on sizing of the pads yet but they are well rated and appear small.)

Books. Reading books is one of our favorite activity. We have endless favorites truly. The new books on Poppy’s list include Little Kids First Book of Why, Press Here, and ABCs of Kindness. Current favorites (oh boy, was this hard to choose) that we already have and will make wonderful gifts include The Pout Pout Fish (Sweet Dreams Pout Pout Fish is amazing too!), Little Blue Truck (Goodnight Little Blue Truck, again, is also amazing!), Giraffes Can’t Dance, Stir Crack Whisk Bake, This is Baby and Llama Llama Red Pajama.

Magazine Subscriptions. These are so great too and are so fun to get in the mail monthly. It is very reasonable for a year’s subscription (as long as you remember to cancel it prior to any auto-renewals. Pro Tip:: Set a reminder on your phone). Our favorite magazine subscription currently is Highlights Hive-Five Magazine. We are hoping to add National Geographic Little Kids to our rotation as well as it is on her list!

Purchasing items or building a wishlist on Amazon is one accessible way to have items ready for the holidays. I strive to equally continue to support local and small businesses as well.

Princess Peg Dolls. We have some of these beautiful peg dolls already from Yellow Brick Kids and I am shocked about how much Poppy likes them already (even before ever seeing any of the movies). More from the collection are on our list!

What items did I miss? What is on your little one’s list this year?

Have a kiddo that’s younger than 2? Another list is coming soon!

Let’s talk soon,
Al
